I've had a Jim Deacon electro-acoustic guitar for a few years new, and it seems to have some sort of piezo-electric coil pick-up inside, which used to sound nice but now gives a bit of a harsh sound. I'd like to play with more of a 'proper' acoustic sound amplified. So I was thinking of getting a new acoustic guitar with a decent microphone fitted inside, and amping it through a smallish PA, that way I could also get a semi-decent mic and be ready to do some acoustic gigs. Does this sound like a reasonable idea, or are things not that easy?

If it's a good idea, any ideas or recommendations on guitars and/or PAs that might fit the bill. I'd be looking to spend about £500-£600 for both together.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Kevin

Have you considered an AER acoustic amp??

It sounds great and have two channels - one for guitar and one for vocal or second guitar. My guess is that it sounds way better than any PA in your given price range.
