I love this guy's playing. I was thinking if you were offered the chance to interview him for a major guitar magazine, what sort of questions would you

I'm always intrigued by the people that worked with Zappa. Quite a diverse bunch. As a guitar player, I'd ask him what that experience was like, if he was pleased with his output, did he feel compromised, etc.
The other stuff would strictly be gear questions... amps, effects, pickups. That stuff would only appeal to guitar players.

Adrian Belew is a wonderful guy to interview, because he has so much to say about tech stuff, and has a great attitude. He has done some very interesting interviews for Guitar Player magazine, at least.
My band warmed up for him, too, back about '79 or something. He was playing a Fender Mustang with a very early Floyd Rose setup, the first I'd ever seen. Wonderful player. Very friendly guy, and easy to talk to; he loves talking tech, and seems to be inspired by whatever he finds himself using.

yah i spoke with him once at a NAMM show eons ago {seems like yesterday in my mind..} i was shy & things, but he was cool and accomodating and seemed like he didn't mind taking time to chat with a fan. he did a performance on one of the main stages that was of course really cool as well. He was playing a modified Strat with a Kahler at the time.
