Hi all

Here's a little story. Back in the day, I was in a band along with my partner Shirley (it's actually how we met, awwwwww!). Eventualy it all fizzled out, as these things tend to. Now here I am sitting in front of this rather nifty recording setup, and I thought it might be neat to re-do one or two of the songs from back then. So, I put down a backing track for one of the better ones, mixed it all down, and played it to Shirley, asking 'how about recording the vocal for this?'. Her response - I've never heard that before in my life. Sigh. So, to leave a story exactly the same length, I now have this Heavy Rock backing track just begging for some vocals. Fancy having a go? I reckon it needs a good strong voice to put something powerful over it. If you fancy it, download and get screaming! Finished results just go to our respective websites, i'm only doing this for the art, man. Heres the link:

Even if you're not a vocalist, by all means have a listen and tell me what you think.

Re-recording this gave me an interesting insight into how my brain works. I have the worst memory EVER. I have trouble remembering what I was doing last week. People are always referring back to conversations i've apparently had with them, and I have NO idea what they're talking about. BUT - I could remember the solo for this,.note for note, in spite of not having played it or heard it for at least 10 years.

Mmm. Nicely atmospheric. I liked the hammered dulcimer intro (I assume that's what it was) which contrasted with the guitar chords when they came in. Not entirely my cup of tea, Mr Five, but it certainly retained my interest. You may need to add a guide melody for the would-be vocalists though.
