Hey everyone!
Welcome to the final week of Beatles Survivor 2002. For the last eight weeks, we've been randomly putting together songs in pairs, and the newsgroup has been voting (what they feel to be) the weaker songs out of the game.
Well, we're past the random part of the game now. In fact, apart from the breaking of a few ties way down the list, we're down to our very last matchup, the one that has stemmed from the rest of the game, the two songs that have gone the distance.
First of all, a huge thanks to the 122 different voters who have taken part in the game - without you, this would have just been a bunch of regular threads featuring me picking songs that I liked, and finding my way into far more killfiles than I'm already in. I hope you all cast a vote in this last round, even if these two songs aren't your favorites, to crown our 2002 champ.
I know a lot of people wanted two George songs matched up against each other in the final round, and I'm afraid that just wasn't meant to be. However, George is represented, and you could even bill this final matchup as George's most supreme song against the ultimate combination of Lennon and McCartney, with a touch of Ringo's finest hour. Or you could call it two crappy songs against each other, if those are your tastes. I've learned one thing in RMB - no one opinion is a constant.
Anyway, cast a vote, tell me the song you prefer, let your voice help decide the ultimate Survivor. Either reply to this post, or send me an
matchup below that you choose as champ. Maybe you think it deserves the title more, maybe you just like it more, maybe you can find better harmonies when you sing it in the shower. Your method of deciding is up to you.
I'll keep the voting open a little longer on this one - you've got two weeks to vote. That way, all the tie-breakers will be done, and on November 13th, we'll have put together the ultimate list of Beatles Survivor for this year.
Before I finish, I suppose some may be curious as to last week's matchups… here are the results:
1. A Day In The Life - 69 vs. Something - 30 2. I Am The Walrus - 43 vs. Here Comes The Sun - 56
Which leaves us with only the following matchup to end the game. Tell me your pick!
Here Comes The Sun vs. A Day In The Life
