I feel sorry for the poor bastards who work for him. Look how many employees he's lost in the past couple years. That redneck from Montana, who got fired for no reason; that won fat kid, who got fired, just for standing up for his beliefs; and finally Charlie, who was basically forced to quit.

The only people left are that mouth-breather, Mike or whatever, (who looks like he doesn't have sense enough to get a real job), and Dwayne, (Boyd's 'Yes-man', and that old fart who is probly biding his time until he dies, or retires.

Interesting work though...I wouldn't mind working there for a while, just to learn how to build hot rods....

I'm behind Boyd a 100% as far as Bluebird...Bluebird was a dumbass, that turned into a smartass. Thats the worse kind... If I had a boss who was giving me the money to build a hot rod, and this ain't no chump change, I sure as hell wouldn't argue about something as stupid as boxing the frame...After all the grief Bluebird gave about that, and also the smartass manner, I would have fired him myself...What a dumbass.....

Now that one , I missed totally....I knew he was gone, but I never did find out why...I saw a preview where it looked like he got fired, but I had the impression from a show , where he was gone, that he just got fed up and quit...Now, he was a pretty decent body dude, and painter... It wasn't exactly those words he used, I put the 'wah, wah, wah' in cause he was acting like a real baby. It's like what does he expect? The guy had a better job offer, he wouldn't even shake the guys hand. He left in a very professional manner, it's too bad Boyd has no class and treats his employees like they are toilet paper. He acts like people are disposable.

When Marcel (or whatever their name is) goes out, Boyd is done. They build the aluminum bodies like the Alumitub for Boyd.. Boyd has made an enormous mistake showing his ass on T.V. in that series. I and many like me have absolutely no respect for him any more. On the flip side, there are a lot of empty heads out there who think that type of interaction and conflict is normal. They eat it up. I hear comments all the time from these under 90 IQ types.

I suspect that they don't get much, if any more than a normal mechanic/bodyman. The clue was when they did a car for one guy that kept wanting things a certain way, and they were running out of time. Wayne made the comment that at $70 and hour labor charge that the cost would keep getting more expensive. This is about what a normal car dealer charges you for a labor rate. I doubt Boyd will give the employees any bigger cut of that $70 an hour than anyone else has too, and besides, I'm sure he has people lined up to do that kind of work just for the experience, though I doubt they'll want to work for him after watching the show.

Charlie now works for Chip Foose, if anyone cares to know what happened to him. I saw an episode of Rides that had Chip and Charlie was accomanying him and made a comment about formerly working for another hot rod builder.

Some frames only have 3 sides to them, making a C shaped rail. The rear section of a truck's frame is C shaped, for instance, allowing some flex for the bearing of the bed's load. Boxing it means they add a 4th side to it, making a complete box of the rail, thereby stiffening it.
