Vibe: Everyone contributing musically to the night has a south London connection. Well, ish. Supplying their own special brand of Southern hospitality, Radio One’s Blue Room duo, Rob 'Sunday Best' Da Bank (Brixton Hill) and Chris Coco (Brixton Hill) will be darting between the main decks and their own, live Blue Room in the Fridge’s candlelit café. Plus main room turntablist action from Brixton's finest - Maxi Jazz (Faithless), Dylan Barnes (Mutiny), Jazz Fudge DJs, Raf Daddy + Practic-al, plus BBC London's Imran Khan. Meanwhile, performing on stage will be: Minuteman (Streatham) will be dazzling you with a stripped-down version of their glam-rocking gorgeousness. Phi Life Cypher (Well, Luton actually – but first launched onto the world by Jazz Fudge, Brixton’s finest hip hop label). Now signed to Brighton’s Zebra Traffic and touted by Tim Westwood as ‘the future of UK rap ’, this trio have been tour-mates of Public Enemy & Outkast, and last year toured the world as part of Gorillaz. South (OK, so they’re from up north – but their name’s in the right place), whose debut James Lavelle-produced album blended beats and sumptuous sonic squiggles with acoustic guitars and vocals to make grown girls weep. And lastly, but so not leastly, Big Chillers and Muzik Awards liggers will already be familiar with Boomclick (Brixton Hill/East Dulwich/Honor Oak), Sunday Best’s newest signing - a dubby fusion of slo-mo guitars, booty-shaking beats and stoner vocals
