Try this as a test:
Turn all guitar knobs to "10", all amp knobs to "1", just to test for sound, first.
Amp power on, volume levels adjusted, it should work.
If not, guitar pickups could be a cause, a defective cable (guitar to amp) could be a cause, or the amp itself could be a cause.
To narrow it down further, try connecting the cable from a home stereo headphone jack, to the amp, to see if you can get music from the amp. If you can, you've eliminated the amp and the cable, and your guitar would be the next thing to test!
