Does anybody know anything about the Hohner D+ Classic Strings for acoustics? They supply an extra D string; I was wondering why that would be?

Thanks

Sorry, I can't find a description of these. Are they for classical guitar? Extra strings are usually provided because of tendencies to breakage. With electric strings, it's usually high E's that are doubled. In a classical set, the doubled string would again likely be the most prone to breakage, and that would be the wound one with the thinnest core - the D.

Again, I don't have a description of that set - Hohner strings are not common in North America - but this may give you a clue.

Yeah thanks mate,

These are Höhner made strings in the range Classic Strings and labelled Set +D. Here in Germany they are quite common and this particular modell is nylon acoustic. I'm guessing that you're correct in your estimation too.
