For anyone concerned, I used them last night at practice . .HOLY SHIT! Words alone can not do them justice! The range of tones at my figure tips is unreal. I played straight through my amp, left all my pedals alone. I use a Fender Ultimate Chorus, Presence all the way up, Gain on about 7 and main on 1. For Bitter Love, neck pickup, SPC off and Expander all the way up . .fab sounding. Rude Awakening bridge pickup, SPC all the way up, Expander on about 3, with this setting I can mimic a Les Paul pretty close. Anyone thinking these pickups are simply novelty for David Gilmour fans, think again!! These are some serious pickups, the jack also had three connections, the third acts as an off switch. By unplugging your guitar, you turn the pickups off . .thus expanding the life of the battery. I did not get any paperwork with mine, it is suppose to have some. Make sure if you get these, your does. Guitar Center is a good company but things happen. I called EMG to find out the deal with the extra connector, he explained. He told me draw a circle on a piece of paper, draw a line at 8 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 4 o'clock. 8 gets the black (ground) wire soldered to it, 6 the shield on the hot, and 4 gets the main wire. He also dropped me all the paperwork in the mail. Very easy to install and EMG, from my experience, is a class act. Suffice to say, if you are debating buying these (for whatever reason) buy them, you will not regret it!
I can not say enough good things about the EMG DG-20.
