I just bought an Epiphone Joe Pass off ebay for $400 incl. shipping. Now I want to upgrade the pick ups and make this thing sound like a guitar worth 5x that.
My thought is either a SD Jazz in the neck with a Gibson P-94 in the bridge, or just pairing two Gibson P-90's.
This guitar is going to be used for rhythm guitar in my church. Unfortunately, there is no guitar amp, the line goes straight into the sound board.
I am really just looking for a warm sound with plenty of body when using open chords in a normal mid tempo strum pattern.
Hi
The first thing that I can say is that you get what you pay for !
That being said, as well as obvious, I will ask around for you ( I am not into the technicalities) and you will have an answer soon.
