I have a Fender Super Reverb silver face amp that I will be selling. I've had it since the early 80's and I'm trying to find out exactly what year it was manufactured. The (old and yellowing) tube layout sticker on the inside right doesn't have a date stamp on it, although it probably did at one time and it's just faded away. There's a metal stamped serial number (A61643) on the upper right on the back plate of the chassis. I'm guessing this is a '71 or '72 vintage but if anyone can come up with a more informed guess, I'm all ears (or eyes in this case).

Hey TB,
Those are nice amps. I have a '65 Super Reverb myself that is killer.
As for yours, A59000 to A66000 - 1973
Cheers,
LPC

Thanks! Is there a website that breaks down the chassis serial numbers for each year? I've found several that have good info using the tube diagram but as I mentioned in my original post, that doesn't help me.

Anytime bro.
Good luck with the sale, but you are probably really gonna regret selling that amp. If you have it set up properly there is nothing else like a Super Reverb.
I also have (all Blackface Fender '64 and '65) Deluxe Reverb, Vibro Champ, Bassman, 3 Bandmasters and a Twin Reverb. Nothing does what the Super Reverb does.
For non-Fenders, I have a Marshall Jubilee, an older JCM-800 with the vert. inputs, and a THD Univalve (which is very cool). Again, nothing does what the Super Reverb does.
Yes, I am a gear whore.
