Just been looking at the prices of new Telecasters:

Made in Mexico: (assembled in Mexico using parts from the USA factory): £330 Made in America: (assembled in California using parts from the USA factory): £700

Questions: * Do MIM and MIA use the same parts? If so, why the big price differential? I would assume that a lot of migrant Mexican unskilled labour is used on the USA Fender factory floor

AFAIK they are substantially different, with the bodies being made of more separate pieces of wood, and the quality of parts (certainly compared to most of the US range ) being inferior, whether the difference in price is worth the difference in quality is a choice you have to make yourself..
