Let it never be said that I'm not the first to admit I've been foolish.

This afternoon I discovered that there's nothing wrong with the guitar. My Planet Waves cable took a dive.

In my defense, what are the odds that my trusted cable would go out at the precise moment when I was testing my new guitar that I had just discovered was dinged.

Obviously, the cable was the LAST thing I expected. I play through it every day. I had just been using it with the new guitar when I broke a string. While restringing I noticed the ding. After restringing I plugged it in and BAM!

My '82 Fender Lead III. I bought this guitar at a store for $200 back in the early 90's. I bought it only because it was American made. Plus it looked like it had never been played and for that price how could I go wrong. I didn't think much of it when I played it in the store, it was really just a total GAS moment. But when I got home and had some time with it I was amazed, now I would not part with this guitar. Everyone who plays it begs me to sell it to them. It has the smoothest neck I have ever felt, it plays effortlessly, and with the heavy body and tapped Hummers, I can get anything from a razor sharp Strat to a rich creamy LP tone. I have to laugh when I look at vintage books etc. They list this as a 'short lived student model guitar' with a minimal resale value. Shit, I would put it up against anything on the market and dare someone to tell me this is not one of the best axe's they have ever played. They are going for around $400 on Ebay for one in top condition, I have been offered as much as $1500 already. NO WAY MAN!!!! I don't care if I'm passing up more than this particular model will ever be worth, that's not near enough dough for me to part with it. I own and have owned lot's of top model guitars but none have I liked as much as this one. Hank L.
