Hello again friends, Todays post is about your tremelo bridge. Either Floyd Rose or a copy or one of the many made by Ibanez. It even works on Fender bridges. They all work on the same principal. Some of my friends have asked me about why there bridge is sticking up in the air. Meaning if you lay your guitar flat on a table or bench, the bridge is angled up as if there is pressure in the bar. This does two bad things. 1. It limits the range of your bridge and 2. Raises the action of the strings we worked so hard to lower. Waite, breathe the answer is simple. The problem is that the 3 or 4 springs on the back of the guitar are not exerting enough pressure to offset the tension of the 6 or 7 strings. You must tighten the 2 screws on the spring claw to increase the tension on the springs. Those screws only need small adjustments like half turns. Make sure you retune after each adjustment and recheck the bridge position. Don't let your bridge push you around. Reply with more in depth questions, I'll be more than happy to help. Now go practice...
