I think you mean Charlie Christian. He pretty much wrote the book on jazz guitar.
Pass is great. Montgomery is one of my personal favorites. Also check out Tal Farlow, Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd, Kenny Burrell and Django Reinhardt.
If you like modern (or post-modern) jazz, check out Al DiMeola. I'll throw Vernon Reid in this category, too. He's great, but he's as much a rock and experimental player as a jazz guy. John McLaughlin is too. His work stretches from jazz fusion to world music. And then there's Nels Cline. He's impossible to put in a category, but extremely talented.

A friend of mine has his signature model, and is a great player in his own right. Before the show he asked Johnny to sign his certificate of ownership, which Johnny did. Johnny asked if he enjoyed gigging out with it and my friend said he didn't allow it to leave the house.
