Have you ever been over to The One that got Away? Well, if you haven’t you should. It is a different kind of guitar blog, Telling the stories of People and their guitars and gear.
Kinda like sports stories, or girl conquest stories - except about guitars.
Some of the Stories are by Jamie, the Blogger who says about himself “I don’t collect guitars… I accumulate them”.
The latest story he has posted is about a Fender Musicmaster 1973, traded in 1978 for a pool table…. and since has been sitting in the corner closet.
I had to laugh at this, because it really reminded me of my own guitar owning experience - (that was short lived… being the type of person who has always been very into music and musicians but not very good at either herself)
Anyway, my guitar, that I got for my 12th birthday, ended up with one of my high school Friends, (who still has it I’m not saying how many years later) who was, as apposed to me, a brilliantly talented guitar player who broke his own and couldn’t at the time afford a new one.
My Mom still asks me, All these years later, whatever became of the guitar (and we are talking about many many years later. many.) I can only grin happily to myself, knowing that my guitar ended up in the hands of a boy, now man who is a professional recording guitar player (obviously he has a much better guitar now, or several…)
Anyway, pop over to TOTGA and check it out. Maybe you have a suitable story to submit.

sounds like me, I am still holding on to my friend’s guitar since I was young, it’s still with me, but I’m not an accomplished guitar player churning out records. And it’s still the only guitar I have in my room. *LOL*
So what happened to your friend? and how come you got that guitar?
We went for guitar lessons together and he gave up guitar playing while I continued playing leisurely. My friend’s now a big boss of a big company, he can probably ask a band to play for him instead of playing himself.
I on the other hand, still strumming to myself. hahah
