Old question,

Do rubber guitar hangers cause damage to your guitar's finish?

Depends on the rubber and the finish, apparently.

General Specific said on 4/2/2005 8:49 AM: 'String Swing' swears they won't damage even the best Nitro finish. I've got my '96 les paul custom hanging on one right now.... Either way, they sell 'bras'. Little, furry tubes you put over your hangar...

I bought a bunch on Ebay that screw into wood that I used for my 8'x8' showoff rack. With my Les Paul and it's 16 pounds, it's definitely made marks where the hooks are. I don't know if its from the material, or just from having a 16 pound guitar hanging.. Haven't noticed it on the other 9 things hanging next to it.
