Thanks Gaijunl.
in close looks the clear finish has small chicken feet-like cracks over the whole thing. No wood damage just the clear exterier finish. Have no idea of how they got there-move to several climate changes maybe?

Im Not Sure Of Its Age
But it Sounds More Like Ageing Finishing Crackles
Ive Had Quite a Few Guitars Like That
And Its a Tough Job To Do When It Vintage Gear

But I Had Great Success
Wet Sanding The Finish Away
If You Do It I Recomend That You Do It
And Let It Dry The Week Before Re Applying The
Clear Coat Finish

Sometimes a Good Wetsanding And Rub N Buff
Works Good Too Just Dont Put Excessive Pressure
To The Wood And you just Might Get Those Cracking
Marks Out

If Your Not Sure
Of Your Abilites Consult a Pro Painter
Some Not All Auto Body Painters
Do Nice Work But Always Get a Second opinion

Good luck
