I changed the strings on my guitar to a smaller guage, and the strings now hit the frets when I play. this didn't happen before. Does anyone have a fix or reason for this?

It seems that the truss rod (an adjustable pole in the guitar's neck) needs to be loosened. If you know nothing about it, you'd better take it to a guitar shop and have them adjust it for you.

Take the cover off and loosen the truss rod one quarter turn and leave the guitar sit for an hour or so. If that doesn't do it, loosen it another quarter turn and let it sit etc. until you get rid of the back bow.
