I need a Mahogany body, neck-through guitar with 2 humbuckers. I personally have had a good experience with the Korean Ibeenhads in the past. I own an RG320DXQM that really looks and plays very well, and a Korean BTB405 bass that kicks ass too. Has anybody had any experience with an RGT42DXFM or other Ibanez neck-through mahogany body, 2 humbucker guitar with tremolo?

Thanks!

I think the Edge Pro II is inferior to the Edge Pro from what I understand. I think it made with crappy metal or something like that. I have an Ibanez RG1570 that has the Edge Pro, and it is incredible. I also have a Ibanez RG421 (hardtail) and an Ibanez acoustic. (I forgot the model #). The acoustic is nothing to brag about, but I didn't expect much for the price I paid.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck in your decision.

SNIPO > Let me say that you are right Mahogany is not a light wood per se BUT with two similar sized pieces of Mahogany one can weigh half as much as the other. This is why Warmoth lists the wood type used and also the weight. i.e. you can get a lighter piece of Mahogany, now if it's simply a matter of density and not wood structure then I guess a light sample of Mahogony won't sound like Mahogony. I do woodworking and what I can tell you when we buy pieces of 8 to 12 feet long 5 to 14 inches wide and 1 to 2 inches thick at the lumber yard - that the lighter ones resonate if you bang them and the heavy ones are dead sounding like stones.
