As a young foolish guitar player I did much the same thing using Lemon oil instead of Tung oil. The results are deadening of the sound, and reducing the resonance. Also because the oils soaks in to the wood you also run into problems with the bridge coming loose and the pickguard too. Although this did not totally ruin the guitar I think the guitar would now sound much better had it instead been kept in a hardshell case at the correct humidity. The front sound board also has 2 or 3 cracks coming from the bridge and going down to the peg, and the bridge itself is sunken somewhat into the guitar face. i've been saying this for a while

baseball glove oil...it gets in the neck and then it dries like on a baseball glove..and it keeps the dirt from your fingers from sticking on the neck also

it's fantastic..

#2 is lemon oil..but not as good as the previous mentioned here

Would you mind if I asked, why did you do that? Tung oil sets up and cures hard. Lemon oil is just an oil right? Or does it form a polymer too? Its a drying oil. I dont think lemon oil is like that is it?
