Hi all (I posted this on alt.guitar.tab but there doesn't seem to be much traffic on it, so apologies if you have seen this already).

I'm trying to learn 2 minutes to midnight, and i've come across a few tabs that has this as the pre chorus. Does anyone know how to play this as this section does not look right to me? Some of the chords look right, but others don't sound like the version from Powerslave. Any help would be appriciated, cos I got the rest of the track ok. Maybe someone has a different version of this tab somewhere?

Thanks Mike

I don't want to say not to use tabs, or books etc. you should and they are a great reference BUT IMHO you want to get ten years better in one year - start using your ears - you will be shocked at just how much you know if you can let go and trust your ear/brain - go with the flow - try to stretch your confidence and ability - think like they did when they wrote it - once you got the key figured out try and determine the next move - memorizing the tab will get you the track but working it will get you vastly better and more in tune with eventually writing your own

Most of the tab sites re-post the same innaccurate tab of any one particular song. For (usually) more accuracy try guitar magazine transcriptions instead of amateur transcriptions.

Its always worth remembering that if you cant hear the difference between what you are playing and what is on the recording then neither will 99.99% of your audience. One thing that is worth trying though is recording yourself playing what you think it is over a very basic backing track or something, because your ears will be much more disscriminating when half your brain isnt taken up with the actual act of playing at the same time.
