Is there such a thing as a headphone amp, or headphones for the amp or anything that I can use to play without bothering roomates and neighbors?

Tom Scholz, guitarist of Boston, designed The Rockman as a portable headphone amp (like a Walkman for guitars), with built in effects, for around $100. It works well, sounds great, and can run it through an amp, too.

Headphones will work with your amp, too, if volume is an issue to others, as a courtesy.

I have used both.
I bought the Rockman for the same reason, so I could play anytime, anywhere, to enjoy my own loud music, without bothering anyone else, even on a roadtrip in the backseat...

Clip it on your belt, plug in the guitar, put on the headphones, adjust the volume and effects, and jam!

My preference: If you have a practice amp with a headphone jack, I'd recommend Sennheiser Wireless headphones, which I also use (with a Wireless Guitar System, without having cables to trip over)!

I bought 2 pairs, and have 1 recharging base plugged into the TV upstairs, and 1 recharging base plugged into the mixing board downstairs.

They're tuneable for different channels, I just dial 1 channel to watch TV/movies at night, and dial another channel plugged into my mixer for my keyboards/guitar/CD's/concert DVD's/electronic drums/FM stereo, etc.!

They were $60/pr. at the Dell computer website, a few years ago, they're definitely the best headphones I've ever owned, for the value!

Let me know what you end up with, either way!

Now If You Use Your Bass With An Effect Unit
Some You Can Just Hook Up To Your TV And Run It Through Your Surround Sound System
Low Volume Should Cover Your Bass Well
With a Kicker In Your Surround Sound System

I Use My Surround Sound System
With My Digital Drums Set Perfect

I know, right? Big sound from a little amp (Rockman)!

Great minds think alike!
I have all my instruments plugged into a 12ch mixer, then through the Surround Sound System, too, cheaper than a PA, and just as loud in the house (can hear it 1/2 block away, at 3/4 volume).
Good thing most of my neighbors like the same kind of music, as I do!
