Got a japanese -80 strat with the name 'Orfeo' on the headstock, and I'm gonna sell it 'cause I only play short-scale guitars now. How much to charge for the damned thing? The body is in a bad state, but the craftmanship, sound and playability is breathtaking. On ebay there is some occational Tokais that is similar, but this seems to be a very rare guitar. How do I get potentional bidders to realise the value? The guitar kicks some serious ass.

Unless you can talk an ebayer into coming over to try it out, I doubt you'll get much money for a beat-up-looking strat copy with no recognizable brand name, not matter how well it plays or sounds. I think you would be better off selling it locally.

Just because it was an '80s Strat copy from Japan doesn't make it a 'Lawsuit Model'. At best you 'may' get around $400 USD. And an Orfeo is not the same as a Tokai.

I don't think he'll get anywhere near $400.

Rare doesn't always mean that something is worth a lot. Sometimes things are rare because they were so crappy that no one bought them. The item must be rare and sought after in order to be worth something.
