Minidisc players: pro vs domestic

Anyone know the difference between pro minidisc players and your bog standard domestic ones, besides the fact that the pro ones are rack- mountable?

I'm getting a bit fed up squinting at the tiny display on my portable, and I'm wondering whether a simple domestic hi-fi MD player would do the

Pro machines shouldn't have SCMS, so you can make a copy of a copy of a copy......etc.

I have been using a standard sony minidisc player for about 6 years. Its an MDS JE520 domestic model, and touch wood hasn't broken down yet. I do have a yamaha Half size one that I take wirth me as a back up, but since they are fairly cheap I think it's worth doing that.
