I bought this Strat back in 1987 and decided to jazz it up a bit. I thought about getting a paint job like the one George had on his Strat from Magical Mystery Tour album. But that was too expensive! So, I had a friend of mine, who makes pickguards, design a Revolver pickguard. It worked out great and didn't cost near what the paint job would have been. At first glance, if you are 10 feet or so away from the guitar, the pickguard looks like it has some sort of marbled design on it. But the closer you get to the guitar, then the Beatles faces appear. I've got many complements on the guitar. I've played a lot of Beatle tunes on this guitar. But what else would you expect when you have John, Paul, George and Ringo staring at you. I hope this link to the pic works. Cheerio.

Is it normal that commercial posts get approved into this moderated newsgroup? This turns out to be nothing but a 'Here, buy one of these', it seems.

Policy is to reject commercial postings/announcements.

After a cursory examination, I don't believe this is strictly commercial in intent. The link is to a yahoo photo album (which does include an 'order prints' link, but that is not the primary intent of the site), and does not lead to someone selling the pickguards.

If I am mistaken, I apologize to the readers.

Great looking guitar. Very striking. Try it with white pickup covers and knobs

It would only take about $10-15 in paint to copy George's Strat Rocky. He used day-glo paint and a brush. Nothing fancy.

Somebody did this recently and sold the guitar on eBay.

Yes. The paint job was anything but good quality. In fact your $15 estimate seems high.
