I just got my first real Gibson Les Paul (yay) and now am going to turn my old Epi LP in to a coil tapped version. However, I'm assuming, (as is my guitar tech who has not seen it yet, but just talked with me) that the epi humbuckers are not wired with 4 seperate wires, therefore I'll need new pickups. That's ok with me as I've come to discover that the epi humbuckers are less than ideal. However, do any of you with more experience than I, hae an opinion of which pickups to purchase so my tech can install and rewire?
thanks
Mac

alright, here's the skinny....alnico pro 1's in bridge and neck and the verdict is.......different. I was hoping for more of a paf type tone for this guitar as I wanted to use it for a Rush project but i don't think these give me quite the tone I was looking for. Having said that, I haven't messed with the height and or played through a couple of different amps. I just brought it home plugged it into my practice amp (fender hotrod deluxe 4/10) and started playing. Looks like the guy that installed them (not my usual luthier) adjusted the height to the highest possible place and I don't like em' there! So, I'll be adjusting and tweaking to see what I can come up with...
