I am completely new at guitar and have just started with scales.
THEY ARE REALLY HARD, MAN
Is this normal?

Welcome Sharon ... hang in there. Go slow and make sure you note them correctly. No need to hurry it along. You will notice improvement fairly quickly. Just practice while you're watching tv so you're not thinking about it more feeling it.
