I saw him live about a month ago, and he was doing things on an acoustic that you'd never think possible. Overall an unbeleivable guitarist, and a fairly good crack as a live act too. If you get the chance to go and see him, do it. And don't be put off by the 'folk guitarist' label - any preconceptions about that knid of music will fly out the window when you see what he can do

Jordan.

My thoughts exactly. His guitar playing is stunning, he's a pretty damn good vocalist as well !.

Not a patch on his dad [1], though - and he cheats, too - banjo pegs with stops for retuning on-the-fly mid song Overall he's a fine guitarist, got a good voice, but personally i find him a bit pretentious - YMMV! I guess that having a luminary of the UK folk-rock scene (and wonderful guitarist/singer/songwriter, and a bit political even at 60) as dad, and Jimmy Page as a visitor for jams with dad through his childhood, he was bound to pick up a few tricks - especially the open tunings Dave H. [1] Roy Harper - if you've not heard his music, do so! Anyone who can get Led Zep dedicating a song [Hats off to Harper] deserves a listen

Nick Harper is pretty amazing. Saw him in Cambridge a few weeks ago. Forgetting all the gimmicky mid-song tunings (once you've seen Adrian Legg, or anyone else do it then it becomes rather dull), this guy is one hell of a player.

I am perpetually amazed at the speed of his strumming.

Have you heard him play electric...jammy bastard...

...just goes to show what can happen when parents encourage their children to be creative, I had to wait until I was working until I could get my hands on a guitar...mutter, mutter...

Yeah, which is why my 10 and 13 yearold have 'lectric guitars and amps in their bedrooms Shame their dad ain't got no talent, though

Strangely enough, they've seen him too, but he's more my ex's (and her mates' cup of tea than the kids' or mine - they prefer a bit of METALLLL!!! - me too, really :o) I've heard a disparaging comment or two about him, nothing to do with his playing, though, which is hard to fault from a technical perspective?
