Purely out of interest, does anyone know if JP's Danelectro still has the aluminium nut? I've heard people express concern about it's suitability as a material, but I've a feeling it facilitates those behind-the-nut bends on the third string that he does.
It looks like the world's easiest nut to replace, in that it's held with a screw into the end of the fingerboard.

BURN IT UP !! that peice of hardboard needs to go up in smoke, on a guitar like that it doesnt matter if its alumimium, brass, nylon or made of a himalayn monks toenail clipping's, its not going to make that peice of cardboard sound anything but cack.

Let's all live in peace and harmony right!
Now iof you keep going on like that I will come over and wash out your hard drive with soap and water.

Well er, not exactly, you see I've got one of those as well, but I applaud the sentiments entirely. If I had to play my Les Paul all day I'd get a sore shoulder as well as missing some of the sounds I get from the rest of the collection.
