Hi

As you may have seen in an earlier post, I have just sold my G-Major on Ebay. First thing I've ever sold on there, bought with 'buy it now' in under 2 1/2 hours.

The buyer has paid with Ebay payments, and Ebay have sent me email to say that this is the case. Using the links in the email seems to suggest that I don't get the money in my bank account until 13th Jan. Another part of the email suggests that, if the buyer is fraudulent, I am liable. Yet the website seems to say that I am covered for up to £350 by using Ebay payments. I should be, they charged me 3% extra which I didn't see in the small print

I don't get this at all. Ebay have already got the money via a credit card, yet the email still warns that I am liable if there is fraud involved. I guess they mean if the card is reported stolen tomorrow, for example.

I really want to play fair by the buyer; he has paid for next day shipment, and I would love to post it tomorrow. But I really don't know what to do. I have emailed ebay tech support, but it claims on the site that they may take 48 hours to reply, hence my post here - I know that loads of you regularly use Ebay and I want to make the buyer happy.

Any advice from Ebay veterans gladly received.

Thanks

if the guy has paid via bidpay or something similar the money is safe, and you can send him the goods... If the card did turn out to be stolen, the pople, who took the card would be liable not you... I never had a problem yet with this payment method and had well over a hundreds dealings on ebay, the only problems I've ever had is one or two bouncing cheques..
