This is true. Did you know Jimi Hendrix opened for the Monkees on tour in the mid 60's only to be let go because of complaints from the children's mothers.

Hendrix was the guitarist for Little Richard whom fired him for being late to gigs. Others say it was because he was upstaging Richard.

Elvis considered putting a contract out to have the Beatles killed. They adored him.

Elvis' contract was sold by Sam Phillips to RCA for $35,000 Elvis' manager Tom Parker was an illegal alien hence the reason Elvis never toured outside the USA. Parker wouldn't let him out of his site. The only time Elvis ever left the country was his 3 year stint in the Army in Germany where he never performed a single song in public. Shit you may not have known and probably don't care.

I recently watched a bio about Elvis narrated by Priscilla. She said Elvis thought the Beatles were great; however, I did read somewhere else that Elvis sent a telegram to the Ed Sullivan Show wishing the Beatles luck in America, despite being very jealous of them stealing his thunder.

By the 60s, Elvis' reign was about over with the British invasion. His saving grace (no pun intended!) was Las Vegas and Hawaii gigs.
