Has anyone used or currently own on of those guitar pre-amp units called the 'Pod'. I'm looking maybe to buy one for recording some electric guitar parts ( I cant make to much live noise around here at night)

If so, can you post your opinion about the unit, good distortion qualities or not? etc...

Yup. Got 2 of them

POD XT = Superb.

Plenty of good high gain amps models, good selection of patches, and even the clean sounds are good too. User interface is reasonable (could be better though). Got mine from Digital Village for 300 quid.
