It sounds as though the problem occurs because the frets are lrger (higher) on the LP than are the frets on the Fender.

The only cure (if you *must* use a capo) would be to use a slightly heavier gauge of strings.

Hope that helps.

BTW: Could you please NOT x-post your binary file requests into ukmg?

UKMG is a non-binary NG and most ISP's filter out attachments in non-binary NGs anyway.

You may need to have intonation adjusted at the bridge - or do it yourself if you have the knowledge. Tune with electronic tuner at the 12th fret fretted then at the 12th fret harmonic. the two notesshould be the same. If the FRETTED note is FLAT then you have to adjust the saddle on the bridge FORWARD, i.e. towards the neck of the guitar. If the FRETTED note is SHARP, then adjust the saddle back towards the bridge until the two notes are the same. The capo won't do much as far as its position goes, as it is the fret the capo pushes the strings down on that becomes the new reference fret to set the pitch. BY the way, this is my first post of 2003, so Happy New Year everybody, and yes, Jeff Beck was rather good.
