I've been rather sloppy changing strings on acoustics in the past. When trying to get the pegs out of the bridge holes I'd use a screwdriver as a lever to pry them out. Is there a proper way to get the pegs out? I'm getting a Martin and I obviously want to take more care to prevent scratches. thanks for any info

notch in the windy but to remove acoustic pegs. Used it on my Martin last week and it worked a treat. 6.99 you can't go wrong.

Ah, so that's why it has a gap at one end! Had one for 3 years and wondered what that was for. Still worth 6.99 even if you only use it for winding and cutting.

I have to say it only occured to me for the first time last week as I was sat there with a pair of pliers, in fear for my guitars life as I tried to lever the first peg out. I had the cutters on my desk infront of me and suddenly noticed the 'notch'. :O)

Bridge pins are supposed to come out easily; There should be no need for force. In my youth I've damaged the odd bridge or two hacking away with pliers etc.

I maintain that bridge pins can and should be easily removable by gentle and guitar-friendly means. I have used a pin-puller, only once though, and it did the job. I just feel that it's like opening a window with a hammer - It works but it's not the best way

YMMV of course

Nothing. Didn't know there was one is all. I haven't found they always just fall out, but then I have a korean made fender acoutic, and they really wedge in there.
