This confusing QA sticker inside my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe makes it hard to determine date of manufacture. It appears to be the tech's initials but no letter date code in the bottom line. I bought the amp brand new in 1999. The sticker on the left has a big handwritten H, which might indicate 1997, but Im not sure.

What is the transformer number? It should have a "606-" followed by 3 or 4 other numbers. This will at least tell us when the transformer was made.

NOTE: The 2-Letter Date Code would tell us the month and year that the amplifier was made.

Thanks, Texas , would you agree the tech that scribbled on the QA sticker was hung over that day?

Took the back panel off, no visible numbers or stickers on the transformer. I shouldn't have to remove it, right? There is a printed copyright date on the green circuit board ©1996, but the schematic sheet included in the owners manual has many dates in little sign off boxes ranging from 1996 to 1997. This still confirms nothing to me, still could be an amp made in '98 or '99.

Nick:
The transformer number should be visible without removing it and don't do that. The number should be stamped into the metal portion of the bracket.
Good Luck,

9th week of 1999, correct? March. So that scribble on the sticker must be a J, for 1999 and probably lower case E for May.
